Ellie Kaufman is a Producer in CNN's Washington, DC bureau covering federal agencies and government regulation. She was previously a News Assistant in CNN's New York bureau. While in New York, Ellie covered domestic breaking news stories including the 2016 Chelsea bombing in New York City, the first federal travel ban lawsuit during the Trump administration, and the Larry Nassar sentencing hearings. Ellie started working at CNN in 2016. Her previous work has been published in The Huffington Post, Vox, Quartz, Fast Company, Mic and the New York Times' blog Women in the World. She graduated from the College of William and Mary in 2013 with a B.A. in English Literature and Hispanic Studies.
