Our Founder

Jonathan Sherman brings nearly a decade of experience in the music industry as a jazz pianist, record producer, and industry executive. His works have been signed to numerous independent labels in the US and Europe, and he has toured across the US playing at iconic music venues with Grammy-nominated artists from Arlene’s Grocery in NYC to the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. In 2019, Jonathan Sherman started, the Music Industry Consulting Practice at Deloitte, where he worked with some the world’s leading music publishers, concert promoters, and streaming platforms, and has since partnered with a performance rights organization to provide music data services to key industry leaders.

  • Rick Bacchus

    Legendary Music Executive and Record Producer Rick Bacchus served as Chairman and President of Operations for the label. Rick Bacchus is well known among his peers in the music industry for being personally involved in the success of numerous music shows and established recording artists globally. Rick is also an established songwriter, composer and producer who is a self-taught musician who is very proficient at playing numerous music instruments.

  • Susanne Shi

    Susanne served as the label’s Chief Marketing Officer and brought global to the label. She has four decades of international working experience from six countries. Susanne invested early in digital design and built a successful trading company in the Far East. She digitized educational materials in Sweden and managed IT plus social media for an embassy in the Middle East. She spent her former years at a music school in Stockholm and now enjoys playing her saxophone!

  • Arian Beckwidth

    Arian served as the label’s Chief Development Officer to contribute his skilled marketing and strategic communication skills to enable the label to build support across diverse communities and identify the right venues, platforms, and forums for the label to thrive in. Arian helped to advance the label’s capacity and partnerships after spending many years on Capitol Hill as a senior policy advisor and as a partner with Warner Music Group to launch successful climate change awareness campaigns.

  • Jen Bacchus

    Jen is currently an Account Executive at Endeavor, and interned with the label in our marketing department in 2021 to develop meaningful connections with brands while at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

  • Alexa Ondrush

    Alexa is a Social Media Manager at Anthem Entertainment who interned with the label in 2021 as a music business student from High Point University and Belmont University in Nashville.

  • Chloe Gardner

    Former American Idol Contestant Chloe was an intern in the label’s booking department in 2021 and is currently enrolled at USC in Los Angeles studying Pop Music, Songwriting, and the Music Business.

  • Benjamin Levitt

    Ben currently works at MGM Studios and Amazon Prime Video as a Senior Audit Analyst. He worked as a strategy intern in 2021 while attending grad school in entertainment at Carnegie Mellon University.

  • Noeli Martinez

    Noeli worked for the label as a social media intern in 2021 and holds a BA in Communications from UC Santa Barbara. She is highly skilled in digital marketing and social media asset creation and coordination.

  • Simone Barnes

    Simone worked an an A&R intern in 2021 and is passionate about the entertainment field. She is pursuing a grad degree in PR and Advertising, and focuses on dance, modeling, and video production.

  • Lauren Santia

    Lauren was an A&R intern for the label in 2021 and is now a Press Manager at Listen Up Promotions in LA. She is currently pursuing a BA in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication from Point Park University.

  • Nick Arnold

    Nick was an A&R intern in 2021 and has significant experience with streaming, content operations, and global marketing. He holds a BA in communication and media , and volunteers for arts and culture organizations.

  • Brahmos Sharma

    Brahmos served as an A&R intern in 2021 and is a young entrepreneur who founded his own talent consulting firm in India to bring enthusiasm and creativity to like-minded global musicians and creatives.

    Lion House PR combines business and legal experience to create lasting brands. With expertise in music, entertainment, and nightlife, Lion House leverages their vast experience to develop successful brands and build press connections for exposure in emerging music markets.

    BITCH Management pitches music to blogs and magazines by creating a press release, distributing it strategically, and helping clients achieve the exposure they’ve been seeking. Their creative services cover graphic design, social media management, PR, lyric video production, and more.

  • Brooklyn Law School

    Since its inception in 2008, the Brooklyn Law Incubator & Policy (BLIP) Clinic trains a new generation of lawyers in the skills needed to represent emerging tech, Internet, communications, and new media companies.

  • Playlister Club

    Playlister Club is a music discovery platform that provides easy activation of artists’ tracks for playlist consideration. Curators manually select songs, ensuring a perfect fit so artists can gain exposure, real data, and global success by connecting with thousands of playlisters worldwide.

Internship Program

Roles and Responsibilities:

We’re looking for a couple of stellar interns to support the label in the areas of A&R, touring, marketing, and music publishing. Your roles and responsibilities may include, but aren’t limited to, the following:

  • Scouting for new artists across genres like Pop, House, and Hip-Hop.

  • Attending concerts, open mics, workshops, and industry events for talent identification.

  • Searching for unsigned or independently releasing artists who fit our label's and partners' brand.

  • Contributing to legal contract discussions and artist negotiations.

  • Assisting in managing the publishing administration for new records.

  • Working closely with our team to implement publishing strategies.

  • Helping track and collect publishing royalties.

  • Coordinating with songwriters and composers regarding publishing rights.

  • Engaging in research to stay updated on industry trends and copyright laws.

  • Conducting market research on preferences, competitors, and trends

  • Creating promotional materials for social media, blogs, or newsletters

  • Managing the company's social media profiles by creating, scheduling, and engaging with posts

  • Scheduling meetings with artists and vendors and manage calendar invites

  • Maintaining and updating the press list for contacts with the label

  • Drafting and distributing monthly newsletters, press releases, and playlist submissions

  • Locating and securing suitable venues for label acts.

  • Building and maintaining relationships with artists and their representatives.

  • Negotiating contracts and riders between artists and venues.

  • Handling scheduling, travel itineraries, and meeting arrangements for placements.

  • Researching talent for specific projects or talent buyer requests.

Salary Requirements:

  • Commitment of 10 hours per week for 12 weeks

  • Stipend consummate with time-worked

Qualifications:

  • Experience with design, content management, and office productivity software. Familiarity with royalty management software is a plus.

  • Experience in booking, telephone sales, or event production is a plus.

  • Grasp of the music press, social media, and market analytics.

  • Passion for music and the music business.

  • Excellent analytical, networking, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

  • Willingness to travel to concerts, showcases, and open mics.

  • Must possess work authorization in the United States.

  • High School Diploma or GED required; BA/BS is a plus.

  • Prior experience in music business or artist management is a plus.

  • Local to New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut is a plus.
