R&B Singer Lisa Gilbert Signs with Return Records
Return Records is excited to welcome Lisa Gilbert or “Lisa G” to the label. Lisa Gilbert aka (Lisa G) was born and raised in Flint, Michigan. She began singing at the age of six years old. Her first love was singing gospel songs from artists like the Richard Smallwood singers, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, the Clark Sisters, Dottie Peoples, and the Hawkins Singers. Lisa was always intrigued and entertained by music played by her mom and grandparents, which mostly consisted of Blues, Funk, R&B, Jazz and Soul.
Singing made Lisa happy from the attention it would bring when performing. When you hear Lisa G, her range would recall, Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, Mary J. Blige, and Phyllis Human. From 1996 to the present, Lisa won may talent shows co-wrote hooks and songs for local rappers and plays and labels. Lisa has worked with notable producers and record labels like Bernard Terry, Ron Terry, Tony Deshae, Bulletproof, Tommy Boy Records, Ypsilanti, Mr. Serv On, No Limit Records, C.A.P., and Low Life Records.
Lisa was also a vocal director for gospel plays wakeup 1-2 and hair weave 1-2 with Telisha Berry. I'm 2009, she auditioned for fear factor but didn't place. In 2017 Lisa lost her only daughter to a car accident which caused her to take a long break from her music, now she is ready to get back to her passion singing! And that has been long overdue. It’s time for Lisa G to shine on so many levels, flaws, and all she still standing because mama said what don't kill you will make you stronger and here, she is ready to make an entrance into 2021 with Return Records.
