Russell and Griffn Release New York Nights EP, a Tribute to the City That Never Sleeps

Return Records is excited to announce the release of New York Nights, the third collaborative EP from genre-blending duo Russell and Griffn. Released August 16, 2024, the five-track project is a sonic love letter to the energy, mystery, and rhythm of New York City after dark.

Drawing inspiration from late-night walks, subway rides, rooftop sessions, and the pulse of the city, New York Nights delivers a deeper, more textured sound than their previous projects. The EP mixes ambient house, downtempo electronica, and experimental pop to reflect the electric calm of the city’s nightlife.

“This project is about the in-between hours—when the streets slow down but the city keeps humming,” said Russell. “It’s where creativity lives and where a lot of this music was born.”

Griffn added: “New York is unpredictable, layered, and alive. That’s exactly how we approached the sound design on this record.”

Tracks like “City Fade” and “1:34 AM” highlight the duo’s maturing style, balancing minimal beats with lush instrumentation and introspective lyricism.

New York Nights is available now on all streaming platforms.
