Return Records Opens Fall Internship for Audio Engineers

New York, NY, July 27, 2025 — Return Records, the NYC-based independent record label distributed by The Orchard (Sony Music Entertainment), is now accepting applications for its Fall 2025 Audio Engineering Internship, an in-person, 20-hour per week opportunity based at New York City Studios in Midtown Manhattan.

This immersive program offers aspiring audio engineers and music producers the chance to work directly with Return’s artist roster, supporting live productions and studio sessions. Interns will assist in setting up recording equipment, managing MIDI and audio tracking in DAWs like Ableton, Logic Pro, and FL Studio, and collaborating with vocalists, instrumentalists, and songwriters to develop original content for commercial release.

Interns will gain hands-on experience in studio engineering, creative production, and label operations—while also contributing to marketing, artist development, and recruiting new talent.

Key Benefits Include:

  • 30% commission on all booked recording hours ($40/hour rate)

  • Paid travel & meals during sessions

  • Studio access at NYC Studios

  • Creative mentorship from Return’s artist and engineering team

Requirements:
Candidates should have experience with analog/digital audio equipment, multitrack editing, audio signal flow, and a working knowledge of modern DAWs. Familiarity with live sound, music theory, and cross-functional collaboration is strongly preferred.

This unpaid internship is eligible for academic credit and requires a minimum of 30 studio hours and 15 office hours per month.

Interested applicants should send a resume and cover letter detailing their music production experience to info@returnrecords.com by Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

Return Records is proud to be an equal opportunity organization that celebrates diversity and community through music and creative expression.
